The 5898 combines PIR and microwave sensing in a wireless detector, for rooms where a single technology gives false alarms.
What it does
It pairs dual-element passive infrared with K-band microwave. Standard coverage is 50 x 60 feet at 90 degrees wide; with the included animal immune lens it is 35 x 40 feet and ignores pets up to 100 lb.
Works with
Works with Vista panels that have a 6160RF, 6150RF or 5881ENH receiver, natively on Lynx Touch, and on ProSeries with a PROTAKEOVER module. It does not work on the VISTA H3 without a module we do not stock.
Why you want it
Needing both technologies to agree keeps false alarms down in sunrooms and spaces with large temperature swings.
